I am a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at the University of California at Davis. My teaching and research interests focus on judicial decision making.  I am particularly interested in understanding the interplay of rules, preferences, and context.   The focus of most of my reserach has been on on the consequences of judicial review, judicial selection, interest group litigation, and the content of judicial opinions.
